Bike
across the Andes from Lima to Cuzco in a nine night
tour that ends with a trip to Machu Picchu, by train.
Pedaling is easy moderate with a wide variety of climates
and terrains explored. 5 nights of mostly downhill riding
around
Huaraz is easily incorporated into a longer trip within
Peru. Well practiced enthusiasts will appreciate the challenge
of the Circuit
around Huascaran, with clear views of the highest
mountains in Peru.
In the Urubamba Valley, single track,
downhill and road mountain biking options are available
from the Sonesta
Posada del Inca Yucay. Here combine biking and sightseeing
with rafting,
horseback
riding and of course hiking.
From Manu
Cloudforest Lodge, sturdy mountain bikes are provided
for effortless descents of the orchid covered mountains
on the eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains. A bus follows
bikers on their four-hour journey from the grasslands
of Manu to the cloud forest camp, although you can decide
the length of the journey and get back on the bus at any
moment. This side trip offers an opportunity to stop at
any moment to observe the breathtaking landscapes, or
to take photographs of plants and flowers.
