Diving in Chile

From the small township of Hanga Roa where all of Easter Island’s 2,500 inhabitants live. You'll be based at one of the first class hotels near the beach with the amenities of a resort.

cottage on the beach of Easter IslandOn a typical morning take a dive excursion of about 3 or 4 hours with afternoons for trekking and/or horseback riding or relaxing on the beach. At the dive site of Hanga Roa explore lava formations covered by coral with plenty of flora and fauna and the chance to see a sea turtle, giant coral 6 m wide at 12-18 M,a shipwreck of The Falcon at 8-14 M. At depths of up to 20 M in Hanga Piko find a sunken volcanic valley streched between lava wall and in the bottom hides a cave at 10 M height. Night dive near motu Caviti for smooth geography and an algae field. Beams of light shine through the cracks of the cavern of Motu Tautara which make it seem like an aquatic cathedral at 6-15 M and at 20-28 M dive along a natural platform covered by coral and surrounded by cliffs.

Robinson Crusoe Island has steep sea cliffs with excellent visibility, vast schools of endemic fish species, and abundant spiny lobsters that attract connoisseurs to this little known dive paradise. Stay at El Pangal Hostelry, surrounded by gardens, with terraces and swimming pool, and a spectacular view of San Juan Bautista.
