Rafting ~ Chile
Set off on a class III-IV rafting trip down the clear,
azure waters of the Petrohue River. The mighty Petrohue
is one of Chile's most beautiful and exciting glacial
rivers in the Lakes
District, and is a part of the Active
Lakes Adventure. You'll marvel at the surrounding
scenery of old-growth forests, waterfalls and breathtaking
views of the mountains and volcanos. Immerse yourself
in the area and navigate the Bio
Bio on a 3 day/2 night adventure from Santiago. This
famed river has fantastic views of the countryside including
the steamy Volcano Callaqui and a stop at the Avellano
Hot Springs. Moderate rapids await you here with plenty
of excitement. If that's not enough of this area take
a three night extension with planned hiking activities.
For thrill seekers, Rio Futaleufu
offers a 5 day/4 night adventure from Puerto Montt. Are
you up to class V rapids in the incredible setting of
Patagonia? From a permanent base camp traverse the Upper
Fu, Middle Fu, and Lower Fu. On your last day the Terminator
awaits, a half mile long Class V rapid. Your guide will
expertly maneuver through thunderous rapids, so hold on
and enjoy this thrilling whitewater experience. Only three
hours by car is Termas de Puyuhuapi where hot springs
and mountains lull you and fishing and hiking entice you
if you would like to extend your visit in the area.
As a day trip from Santiago
in Maipo River, take a whitewater rafting trip with class
IV rapids in November through February and class III the
rest of the year. No experience is required and views
of the terrain are inspiring. End and begin your adventure
at Cascada de Las Animas where you'll lunch and swim or
sauna in the afternoon before heading back to Santiago.
