Hundreds of small islands with salt-white
sand surrounded by crystal blue waters and enchanting
coral reefs form the archipelago that is Los Roques. Spend

located 80 miles off the Venezualan coastline. Only 40
of the Los Roques Islands have names, of which Gran Roque,
Cayo Grande, Esparqui, Isla Larga, Rabuqui, and Espenqui
are the largest. Additionally, over 300 rocks, sand keys,
and coral reefs create islands at low tide.
The whole area is home to abundant
wildlife. Forty-five species of birds inhabit the islands,
including pelicans, frigates, boobies, and herons. The
waters are teeming with tropical fish, and fishermen will
find numerous grouper, snapper and King mackerel. Green
sea turtles lay eggs on the island beaches, and conches
