The brand new M/S Andrea is a modern, comfortable, and luxurious vessel which is ideally suited for a stylish expedition cruise. Staffed by experienced European officers and crew, Andrea measures 286 ft (87 m) in length, 43.6 ft (13.28 m) in breadth, and has a draft of approximately 15.5 ft (4.72 m) and a displacement of 2632 tons. She is capable of speeds of 15 knots.
The Andrea provides accommodations for 107 travelers in an ample assortment of 57 spacious cabins and suites distributed in 5 decks that vary in configuration and include the most modern amenities. These decorated with a distinctive interior design of the 17th century Scandinavian Gustavian style. TV with satellite access, individual climate control, telephone, personal safe, hairdryers, lighted makeup mirror, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower cap, soap, and face cloth), storage space underneath the beds, 220V electricity throughout (110V in bathroom, shaver only) are some of the cabins and suites’ features. Air conditioning and heat is available throughout the ship.
The Andrea carries a full compliment of Zodiac craft, excellent for landings and wildlife viewing opportunities. The ship has two lounges, one of which is located in the vessel’s fore and is the best for observation thanks to the ample teak deck chairs. A small library with internet access complements it. Another lounge/bar is located in the vessel’s rear and is ideal for lectures as it is fully equipped with LCD and slide projectors, podium, microphone, and screen and can hold up to 80 people. An open café on the top deck is perfect for open air dining if weather permits. The fitness center is also located in this level, and provides basic equipment treadmills, bikes, and free weights. An elevator makes for convenient access to all these areas.
All meals are served in the vessel’s restaurant located on the Mediterranean deck. The restaurant can accommodate all guests in one seating.
