Yankee Way Lodge - No Frills Fishing
NEW NO FRILLS FISHING FROM YAN KEE WAY
LODGE AS LOW AS $2299 per week per person.
If your top priorities are great waters,
excellent guides, high quality transport equipment and boats
and a typical Chilean fly-fishing experience as low as $2,299
per week. The Bunkhouse Package provides seven
nights and eight days at Yan
Kee Way Lodge. The basic fly-fishing package provides
a typical Chilean fly-fishing expedition for about half
the price of many local lodge packages including the standard
Yan Kee Way Lodge deluxe fly-fishing program.
Select the aspects of a quality fly-fishing program most important to you. Pay only for those features that you want. Fishing all of the world-class waters in the region, lodging in what is considered one of the top five fly-fishing lodges in the world and dining daily in the Latitude 42º Restaurant, rated the best restaurant in the entire south of Chile, may be included in the Bunkhouse Expedition Package.
Guests of the Yan
Kee Way Lodge are right on top of some of the best trout
waters in Chile . Located on the shores of Lake Llanquihue,
the lodge is closest to the famous Petrohue fishing grounds.
There are enough great nearby fishing options so that you
never need to cover the same water twice during a one week
stay. Fishing expeditions includes wading and drifting in
an imported 16' Jagarundi Cataraft float craft. These watercraft
have rowing frames built specifically for fly-fishing. Unlike
North American style drift boats used by local guides in
other lodges, Jagarundi Catarafts can easily be back-rowed
in the strong currents of the Petrohue River to keep you
right on top of the fish. The only jet boats you will see
on the river will be those of Yan Kee Way Lodge.
The Bunkhouse Program offers four, two-person per room accommodations with central heating. The rooms have built-in bunk beds, and bathroom facilities are shared. Each of the two large tiled bathrooms have two enclosed shower stalls, two enclosed toilets and multiple sinks. Guests staying in the Bunkhouse have a game room with satellite television and a community telephone for local, long distance, and international calling.
A healthy and tasty menu, prepared by gourmet chefs serve up a true taste of Chile. Breakfast and evening meals at Yan Kee Way will be served, from a set menu, in the Fogon dining room with beautiful views of Lago Llanquihue and the Osorno and Puntiagudo Volcanoes. Chefs prepare Chilean specialties based on local seafood, meat and poultry using vegetables from their own organic gardens. Guests are welcome, at additional cost, to order from the Latitude 42º menu and our famous wine list and cellar at their pleasure or you may choose to upgrade your entire meal plan to the standard Yan Kee Way fly-fishing meal plan.

Season
The second Friday in November until the first Sunday in May. Operations at Yan Kee Way Lodge during the Colihuacho, or Tabano, season in January . Colihuachos, large, biting horseflies that make enjoyable fishing literally impossible, arrive around Christmas and leave around the end of January. Fortunately, rivers that are free of these flies may be fished, or morning start times are modified to depart the river at mid-day when they are at their worst.
Horseback riding, trekking, mountain biking,
canyoning, photo safari, and rafting may be arranged.
The Petrohué is staked as the lodge's home river
and offers fishing for numerous resident rainbows and
browns. During the season, large runs of silver, Chinook,
Atlantic salmon, and steelhead trout supplement the resident
fish. Also fish other nearby waters and spring creeks.
Programs include, all meals, daily guided excursions,
and ground transfers. |
