Puerto Eden Ferry, Patagonia
On
board the Puerto Edén you will be taken on
an adventure of a lifetime. From Puerto Montt you
will pass through quiet and calm channels and be witness
to the spectacular landscape and wildlife that Southern
Chile has to offer. On arrival, you will have the
opportunity to take an optional tour into the Torres
del Paine National Park. The natural splendor of the
mountains, glaciers, rivers and forests as experienced
from this relaxed and comfortable ferry is unique.
The Puerto Eden is a cargo and passenger
ferry that was built in Rauma Repola (Finland) in
1972 and refurbished in Brazil in 1993. It is 113.5
meters long and 19.2 meters wide, traveling at a speed
of 13 knots and sails all year round. This is not
a luxury cruise, but there is a wonderful atmosphere
on board that is relaxed and casual. The Puerto Eden
is the only ship with permission to sail through the
fjords to Puerto Natales, from which you may continue
overland to Torres del Paine National Park.
Facilities
include a variety of cabins available for 96 passengers,
a cafeteria, spacious living area, decks for walking
and viewing and a closed-circuit TV, music and books
for passenger entertainment.
