Patagonia ~ Chile

Torres del Paine National Park |
Located on the southernmost tip of South
America, the untamed wilderness of Patagonia has been attracting
hardy adventurers for hundreds of years. More recently,
travelers and nature lovers have been discovering this region's
rugged beauty, and a highlight for most are the impressive
Andean massifs of Torres del Paine National Park. These
granite peaks are surrounded by a spectacular land of glaciers,
waterfalls, lakes and lagoons which offers visitors a playground
for outdoor adventure.
The Torres del Paine National Park is world
renowned for its climbing, but you don't have to be a top
rock climber to enjoy the rugged beauty the park offers.
It is easy to spend daylight hours hiking to the Towers
and all around the park and return to the comfort of a Explora
Lodge or more modest Hosteria
Grey.
The Skorpios Cruise II will take you from Puerto Montt to the San Rafael Lagoon on a six night voyage for views of the glaciers, for the more luxurious option choose the Skorpios III. On the Mare Australis there is an option for a 4 night cruise from Punta Arenas to Ushuia where you may stay one or two nights or out of Ushuia take a 3 night cruise back to Punta Arenas. The only ship with permission to sail through the fjords to Puerto Natales, Puerto Eden is a ferry that sails year round from Puerto Montt.
Patagonia encompasses a large area, technically from the Lakes Region to Tierra de Fuego in Argentina. Accommodations from private Estancias to the luxurious Explora now suit most tourists every need.
