Birding
Costa Rica

Birding in Costa RicaCosta Rica is a birder's paradise. The Osa Peninsula, where Corcovado National Park is located, in the southern part of Costa Rica is home to over 270 species of birds. The area around Arenal Volcano has the resplendent quetzal and the three-wattled bellbird. Monteverde Cloud Forest is not to be missed in the early morning. The Reserve supports eight distinct ecological zones. Inhabitants include more than 100 species of mammal, 400 species of birds, over 120 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 2,500 species of plants.
Guides use high magnification telescopes to get close views of the birds throughout the miles of well maintained trails.
