Sleek
32 passenger steel-hulled riverboat built in 1988. In 1995
it was refurbished for speed and comfort on the Amazon and
in 2000 a glass-enclosed air-conditioned small laboratory
for guide/passenger use was installed. The boats 10 twin
(upper/lower) and 3 triple/quad cabins are all fitted in
Amazon woods. Each cabin is air conditioned and has private
bath & shower. There is an enclosed, air conditioned
dining room and lounge and the sun deck has both covered
and uncovered areas. The M/V ARCA has its own shore boats
for excursions and is connected by radio with the main office
at all times.
The M/V ARCA operates on 2 - 6 night departures
to the Pacaya-Samiria
National Reserve (an area unrivaled for wildlife), Iquitos
to Leticia and Tabatinga or Iquitos to Yurimaguas.
The ship may also be available for special interest groups
on a charter basis.
