Sonesta Posada del Inca Yucay was originally
a small monastery founded by the monks of the Santa Catalina
de Sena Order in 1678. In 1870, the monastery became the
property of a number of families until it was bought by
Leoncio Arteaga, who turned it into a hostel in 1982.
In December 1995, the hotel became Posada del Inca Yucay
and later in 1999 it was part of the Sones
ta
chain.

ruins, the Inca markets of Pisac and Chincheros, the Salt
Mines of Maras and Machu Picchu, and the Lost City of

Airport to Sonesta Posada del Inca Yucay.
