and transferred to the Libertador
Hotel Trujillo or other.
Tour of Chan Chan the pre-Colombian adobe citadel of
the Chimu Empire, considered the largest of it's kind,
and the museum on site. Stop at Huanchaco Bay, where local
fishermen continue going out to sea in fragile straw skiffs
or "Caballitos de Totora". On the way back,
visit the pre-Inca temple of "Huaca El Dragon".
Visit the 1,500 year old "Huaca del Sol, (Temple
of the Sun) located 3 miles from Trujillo. Admire the
construction of more than 140 million mold made adobe
bricks. Directly opposite, the "Huaca de la Luna",
(Temple of the Moon), dazzles with it's decorated walls
and impressive friezes. Both temples are attributed to
the Moche Culture.
On a private transfer to Chiclayo,
choose between a visit to El Brujo archaeological complex,
which includes richly-colored murals recently discovered
on a Moche pyramid or Pacatnamu, an ancient fortified
ceremonial and pilgrimage center, (600-1,350 A.D.), situated
on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Follow with
a visit to the Museum of San Jose de Moro.
Head out in the early morning to Huaraz,
South of Trujillo for a private transfer. On the way,
stop at the Sechin Archaeological Museum and temple with
