Only 20 miles from Cuzco
the town of Pisac attracts villagers from all around the
area who bring goods to market and buy supplies. An education
in the culture of the campesinos and agricultural products
grown and sold. Handicrafts are also available as are
brightly colored wools from alpacas and llamas.
Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo excursion
gives opportunities for browsing and shopping at the colorful
Indian market. After lunch in Urubamba take a tour of
the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo located in the
Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Pisac Ruins at 10,654 feet, hike to a
large complex of religious temples, housing areas, agricultural
terraces, cliff-hanging paths and astronomic observatories.
