TRANSFER TO/FROM
CUZCO BY TRAIN - A full day train ride to/from
Cuzco to Juliaca travel a route that goes through beautiful
landscapes of cloud covered mountains, over hot springs
and small altiplano villges where local people in colorful
dress await the train to sell their handicrafts and food.
CHULLPAS
OF SULLUSTANI - From Puno tour the well-known pre-Inca
"Chullpas", (towering stone tombs) located on
the shores of Lake Umayo. Sullustani is said to be the
burial site of the ancient Hatun Colla chiefs. Tour the
site on it's own or in combination with a transfer to
or from Juliaca's airport.
TAQUILE ISLAND
- Full day boat excursion to Taquile, an island located
24 miles from Puno in Lake Titicaca. The island inhabited
by 1,600 Quechua-speaking Indians, is considered a visitor's
paradise. Pre-Inca ruins, world famous hand weavings and
an ancient communal way of life will be admired. Also
included is a visit to the floating islands. Lunch is
included.
TRANSFER TO/FROM
LA PAZ BOLIVIA BY BUS AND CATAMARAN - Departure
by bus to/from La Paz From Puno visit the Bolivian National
Shrine to the Virgin of Copacabana. Take a catamaran to
Huatajata with lunch on board. Tour Lake Titcaca's Island
of the Sun Complex and pass Tiquina Strait. Take a bus
trip from Huatajata to a La Paz Hotel. Overnight
on a Catamaran is available.
FLOATING ISLANDS
- Visit to the floating "totora" islands of
the Uro Indians, ancient inhabitants of Lake Titicaca,
the highest navigable lake in the world. Tour, when available,
the English 186 motorboat Yavari.
TRANSFER TO/FROM
CUZCO BY BUS - Departure by bus to/from Cuzco to
Puno visiting on the way Piquillacta, Andahuaylillas,
Raqchi with it's temple to the God Viracocha and the Marangani
alpaca waving factory. Box Lunch is included.
