The first day on the guided tour from Arequipa
enjoy the spectacular Misti and Chachani Volcanoes. Go
through the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca where vicunas
and possibly guanacos can be seen. Visit Mossepunku's
rupestrian paintings. Quaint colonial villages are visited.
In the evening thermal baths may be available. Overnight
at the Colca
Lodge or El
Parador del Colca where you'll enjoy dinner.
On the second day, stop at the Cruz del
Condor, sanctuary of the condors and appreciate the beauty
of one of the deepest canyons in the world. Visit the
towns of Maca and Yanque. After lunch either return to
Arequipa or continue on to Pinchollo and in the afternoon
visit the Collahuas ruins and the town of Corporaque.
Overnight at the lodge and enjoy dinner.
On the third day visit the town of Chivay
with it's market and handicraft shops. After lunch return
to Arequipa. Whether or not you choose one or two nights,
your route will take you via Patapampa where the active
volcano of Sabancaya will be seen in it's splendor.
