Day
1 - Travel through several picturesque and colorful valleys
such as Uchumayo, Sihuas, and Majes. After reaching a
plateau, trek for 2 hours to Toro Muerto where more than
3000 volcanic rock engravings can be seen. Lunch included,
have dinner and overnight at Majes Lodge.
Day
2 - Depart at dawn on the second day. Pass through the
valley of Tipa and the villages of Viraco and Machahahauy.
Spot pirhanas, deer, and guanacos at the foot of snow-capped
majestic Coropuna at 21,045 feet. Visit the impressive
Valley of the Volcanoes, 1 hour trek. This unusual valley
is coverd with more than 80 volcanic cones and crates.
A box lunch is included and in the afternoon return to
the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day
3 - Morning river running, (in rubber rafts) down the
Majes River. Lunch and return to Arequipa.
