Ancient Lands of Venezuela

"Every detail was organized for us before the trip. They (Lost World) were willing to work within our budget while still tailoring the trip to our needs. We loved it all! Catching anacondas, piranha fishing, walking behind a waterfall, the bright blue waters of Los Roques...too many things to mention. The guides were the best part! Our guides were really cool and knowledgable. Thanks for everything! It was the best vacation of our lives! ~ Lori Beierle and Cory Wallman ~ May 2006 ~ Llanos, Canaima, Orinoco Delta and Los Roques

Venezuela is more than first meets the eye. Caracas is the gateway to the country and rarely a stopping point on the way to the country's many tourist attractions. Our representatives will meet travelers at the international airport and transfer them to the domestic airport or the Hotel Olé Caribe for stopovers. Further afield endless natural history and culture travel adventures lie ahead.

Canaima is the getaway to Angel Falls, the highest  waterfall in the world with more than 3,000 feet. Venture deep into its base by dugout canoe or fly through the tepuis and see it from the sky. Hike atop the eerie and unique landscapes of Auyantepuy or Mount Roraima Tepuy, one of the top treks in South America. Mérida and the Andes are paradise found for hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts and home to the world's highest and longest cable car system. The longest coast line in the Caribbean Sea and numberless islands provide the perfect setting for a wide range of activities. Scuba dive in pristine reefs teeming with fish and enjoy a laid back atmosphere in Los Roques Archipelago National Park, sun worship in postcard tropical beaches. The Venezuelan Amazon is wild and untamed and the place to interact with ethnic groups. Right in the middle of the country map find the Grasslands or Llanos, an immense extension of flat, flooding terrain packed with exotic fauna and flora. After 1,281 miles, the Orinoco River greets the Atlantic Ocean by way of a splendid Delta in which countless rivers and "arms" (water channels) provide an excellent dwelling for animals and birds. Our Venezuela adventures feature canoeing, caving, climbing, cruising, horseback riding, kayaking, whitewater rafting, paragliding and hangliding, salt and freshwater fishing, windsurfing and birdwatching in South America's most diverse and accessible country.

Still much the same as when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle coined Gran Sabana's "Lost World", Venezuela's geography provides the opportunity to explore territories vast and varied.
