The
jungle style, very tranquil and exclusive Peacock Bay
Lodge is located in the southern portion of the Guri Lake,
just a few steps from its shore, and is mainly geared
to Peacock Bass enthusiasts.
Only 4 spacious double rooms with plenty
of storage for gear, private bathrooms and hot water plus
a living and dining room, serving substantial and plentiful
meals, and a bar. The lodge has its own power plant, water
tanks and pumps.
Boats are 18 feet 40 HP Outboard Boston
Whalers equipped with trolling motors and rod holders.
Guri Lake is so big that another fishing boat will hardly
be found although in fact it is possible to start fishing
just 2 minutesaway from the lodge. Thanks to the strict
catch-and-release policy, Peacock Bass in Guri Lake can
exceed 20 pounds!
Peacock Bay Lodge is accessible by 4WD
vehicle or chartered air from Ciudad Bolivar or Puerto
Ordaz. Fishing for Morocoto, Caribe and Payara is also
possible, although these species are less numerous than
Peacock Bass.
