Saranda's Camp
is located in the town of El Manteco, in the southeast
section of the huge Guri Lake, in the Bolivar State. Mainly
geared to the Peacock Bass enthusiast angler, the camp
also offers excursions for standard travelers and is the
starting point for our Overland to Canaima tour.
Saranda's
Camp is set in a beautifully landscaped, 12 acres complex
just a few minutes from the lake edge, which attracts
a varied number of birds and the occasional deer. It has
15 attractive and independently decorated rooms with plenty
of details, porch, air conditioning, roof fan, private
bathroom and hot water. The social areas include a living
room, a restaurant, a bar, a play room and a big swimming
pool in an ample outer terrace.
Boats
used for fishing are 16 feet fiberglass or aluminum, equipped
with outboards ranging from 40 to 90 HP and prepared for
two anglers. The minimum group is 2 persons and the maximum
is eight, thus ensuring a personalized experience. The
fishing is strictly catch-and-release.
Saranda's
Camp is easily accessible by land from Ciudad Bolivar
and Puerto Ordaz.
