in the Paragua River, a couple of hours upstream from
the town of La Paragua, In the Bolivar State, the lodge
is easily accessible from Ciudad Bolivar and Puerto Ordaz
by both land and chartered air.
Located close to the ideal habitat of the
Payara,
enthusiastic anglers of fighting and ferocious fish come
for a thrilling experience. Uraima Lodge has a maximum
capacity of 8 fishermen in 12 cabins that have 2 double
rooms each and a shared bathroom with hot water, providing
privacy and exclusivity in the middle of the rainforest.

(dugout canoes) with 40 HP outboards, swivel seats and
rod holders are used to access the fishing spots, the
farthest of them being just 10 minutes away. The largest
Payaras can easily exceed 30 pounds here thanks to a strict
catch-and-release policy, making the Uraima Falls Lodge
the world capital of Payara fishing. Aymaras exceeding
40 pounds are also found.
Walks along the yellow sanded shores of
the Paragua River, visits to the nearest tepuys and mountains,
watching for the different species of birds, and even
water-ski complement the fishing activities.
