Opened in October
2001, Wakü Lodge is Canaima's newest accommodation
facility. Located in the western sector of the Canaima
National Park at the edges of the famous and scenic Canaima
Lagoon, it affords great views of the lagoon's falls:
Hacha (Hawk), Golondrina (Swallow) and Ucaima ("What
attracts" in the Pemon language)
A
VIP lodge with luxury finishings, Wakü Lodge offers
only 15 welcoming and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms
and hot water plus your own porch with hammock, ample
windows that overlook the Canaima Lagoon falls, generous
gardens with walking paths where guests can benefit from
the region's landscapes and catch a glimpse of the typical
fauna. The restaurant is a big open "Churuata"
(indian hut) featuring varied meals both a la carte and
buffet. The social area has satellite TV service and a
selection of local and imported beverages.
Excursions
to the Carrao River and to Angel Falls are available as
day trips and overnights. Side excursions to several other
nearby waterfalls are offered, including Sapo and Yuri
Falls, as well as Angel Falls overflights and full day
excursions to Kavak.
