The
Orinoco Delta Lodge is conveniently located just 2 hours
by rapid boat from Tucupita. Opened in 1993, it is the
best option in the Delta and is easily reachable from
Maturin or Puerto Ordaz.
Fauna and flora surround the camp and sleeping
will be escorted by a very soft symphony of sounds
from the natural inhabitants. Wake up to the songs of
hundreds of birds or the calls of the common howler monkeys.
Experience contact with a variety of adopted orphan animals
that found a home (and lots of care) in the camp: A giant
river otter, an ocelot, macaws, toucans and monkeys all
roaming free except Toby the puma and Panther the Jaguar.
The
Orinoco Delta Lodge features 36 independent and spacious
cabins with private bathrooms, designed in typical Warao
style with wood and palm roofs. Large common areas host
the dining room, kitchen, bar, and library all overlooking
the Guamal stream.
With its own fleet
of rapid boats, smaller boats and dugouts canoes experience
and discover this region of Venezuela on daily excursions
that explore the streams for birds and animals or fish
for pirhana. Walk in the jungle to learn about the medicinal
use of the different plants and discover the ancient culture
of the people of the water, the Warao.
