Delta Lodge, Simoina Camp is a rustic yet comfortable
and smaller option located in Waranoco, a farther north
and remote stream of the Orinoco Delta. Surrounded by
dense
vegetation and accessed by very narrow channels you can
almost touch both sides of the shores with your hands.
Built on stilts, it features areas joined by wood bridges
for socializing and dining and hammocks for sleeping with
mosquito nets.
Occasional macaws and toucans visit, along
with abundant bird and wildlife. During the night, paddle
a small curiara (dugout canoe) through a very narrow channel
to spot caimans swimming silently. Complete the experience
by visiting authentic Warao communities to learn about
their customs and self-sufficient life.
