Day
1 Puerto Ordaz - Gran Sabana
Start
with a short visit of Puerto Ordaz and then head south
through several mine towns. Stop for lunch and continue
driving south to the ascending Sierra de Lema. Stop in
Piedra de la Virgen, a huge stone from the Precambrian
era, the unofficial entrance to Canaima National Park's
eastern sector: The Gran
Sabana. Enjoy the 180º panorama of savannah landscape
dotted with tepuis in the distance. Reach the tourist
camp at the end of the afternoon where travelers will
overnight. (L, D)
Day
2 Gran Sabana
Visit
the Pemon Indian community of Kavanayen and experience
its privileged location amidst unique tepuy scenery. Then
drive to LiwoRiwo (Iboribo) and navigate the Aponguao
(Aponwao) River to the imposing Chinak Meru Falls, also
known as Aponwao Falls. Overnight in a tourist camp. (B,

Day
3 Gran Sabana – Santa Elena de Uairen
Driving
south again, make stops to visit different waterfalls
and ravines along the way, including Kawi Falls, Kama
Meru Falls, Arapan, Soroape, Yuruani Falls and the beautiful
and unique Kako Paru Ravine, also known as Jaspe. Stay
alert for road views of Kukenan and Roraima,
the highest table top mountain in Venezuela. Arrive to
the frontier town of Santa Elena de Uairen at the end
of the afternoon. Overnight in a tourist camp. (B, L,

Day
4 Santa Elena de Uairen – El Pauji
Visit
the Venezuela-Brazil frontier line before proceeding to
the young and seldom-visited town of El Pauji. Trip Cathedral
Pool and the Abyss, where the savannah landscapes end
abruptly giving space to the jungle. Visit Emerald Pool
before returning to Santa Elena de Uairen. Overnight in
a tourist camp. (B, L, D)

5 Santa Elena de Uairen
Transfer
to the airport to fly to your next destination in Venezuela.
