Client Reviews
of Lost World Adventures
Excerpts from just some of the
rave reviews Lost World has enjoyed.
"The itinerary was great. The weather could not have been better. We loved El Chalten. Fitzroy was our friend the whole time, shining brightly down on us. We liked the town, being able to walk to the different restaurants. They were fun!! The hiking was just terrific as well... What can was say about Charming [Bariloche Hotel], other than that you should go and stay there? Just perfect!! Beautiful. The staff was great. The breakfasts were great. The room was oustanding. We ate at a restaurant called Butterfly - probably the best meal of our lives... We want to thank you for doing such a great job." - May 2012, Don and Sandy B.
Argentina
"Chaa Creek was amazing. That was really a top notch, unique destination... We really enjoyed Ramon's Village as well. It was a great location with a beautiful beach. I don't think there was a better place on the island, when you factor in proximity to the town and the quality of the property. The trip was very smooth... I will use your travel agency [again]. Thank you so much, you did an excellent job!" - May 2012, Terry B.

"We had a terrific trip to Costa Rica- Pura Vida! You provided us with wonderful accommodations- and our tour guide was fantastic with helping Kristine locate the birds! Everything was well-planned and I loved the Vulcan Arenal area the most!!! The beach was great too. I hope you are doing well, just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated all you did to make our trip wonderful!" - Apr 2012, The Tunnell Family

"The entire trip was wonderful! Hard to say the most memorable... However, The Fazenda Barranco Alto in the Pantanal was probably my favorite. The owners and staff were above and beyond fun and accommodating. We will definitely go back. We also got to see so many beautiful animals."

"We were thrilled with the two places we stayed. The guides were incredibly dedicated people and we learned SO much about the Mayans and the wildlife, birds, flora and fauna… I came out the door one morning to view a Keel-billed toucan! It certainly felt like the jungle, which it was. Food was excellent as were the accommodations. Weather was fabulous. Everything worked like clockwork. Thanks again for making this such a good tour!" - Mar 2012, Barbara and Don A.

"We had such a great time on our trip ‐ definitely did not want to come back. The W in Santiago was excellent ‐ great room, great service, nice pool on the roof with a view.… The Vina Vik was exceptional. The staff was amazing, food and wine could not have been better and our room was wonderful with a full set of windows looking out on the vineyard and lake. Truly a special place, and I would highly recommend it." - Jan 2012, Gina M.

"ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for everything. You and Andrew outdid yourselves. Every detail was handled flawlessly - the drivers and guides were awesome, the hotels were perfect, the food and wine were so unbelievable I gained about 15 pounds…What else can you ask for in a honeymoon!?" - Jan 2012, Alison W.
Argentina
"General logistics were flawless. From the first pick up at Ezeiza, to the multiple hotels, tour and flight transfers, everything went with a single problem. There is a sense of comfort there that cannot be measured in dollars. I never once felt at a loss or on my own without assistance.
Estancia Alice (which is now called El Galpon officially I think) was wonderful. The staff, the setting, everything. It was rustic, but the people made you feel like one of the family. I loved it there and might consider going back simply for some R&R." - Jan 2012, Rachel G.
Argentina (El Calafete)
"I must tell you we had the most amazing time in Costa Rica. I could not have asked for a more well planned and smoothly run vacation. Every aspect of the trip was perfect. We adored Tobacon Spa. The people were so friendly and our accommodations superb. We felt like royalty. I think the best part of the rainforest portion of the trip was having Carlos, our driver and tour guide. Not only was he knowledgeable about the country, from the culture to the politics to the agriculture and environment, he was a great driver and very flexible." - Dec 2011, Suzy S.
Costa Rica
"We couldn't have been happier with the planning, your suggestions, and the follow through. I must admit I was nervous going through an agent (as I'd never used one before) but it truly was the best decision. The travel and accommodations were beautiful and seemingly effortless. We didn't have one problem throughout our entire trip.
I can't say enough good things about the staff at Chaa Creek. They truly made our stay that much more enjoyable and getting to know them on a personal level made our dining experience much more intimate… We loved some of the food so much that the cook gave me a soup recipe to try at home. Can't wait to have a little Mayan flavor back in the states." - Nov 2011, Blair and Martin C.

guide was AWESOME." - Apr 2011, Sonia M.

The trip was just plain terrific!"

"The sights kept getting better and better. After Iguacu we asked ourselves, how do you beat this? Then we walked among the penguins in Valdes, and it was absolutely unbelievable! Then the mountains crashing into the sea at Ushuaia, with the snow-covered mountains all around. Wonderful! And finally walking on the Perito Moreno glacier! As I said, it just got better and better.

"I want to thank you for truly making our honeymoon spectacular! Will & I were blow away with the level of professionalism we found in our guides, hotels, staff, etc. It was superb. All of the accommodations were well beyond our expectations, especially the Napo Wildlife Center. Also, it was so fantastic not to have any need to worry about transfers or figuring out how to get to our destinations. Each time we got off the planes, someone was waiting for us. Others we met along the way were promised that type of service from their travel companies and were quite disappointed. We experienced nothing like that and were so pleased at every turn. Carmen was so helpful and knowledgeable. She gave us tips on places to visit and great restaurants to eat. It was really comforting having someone waiting for you each time you landed."

"We came back from our trip last week and would like to let you know, that your trip planning was perfect.
The “Legado mitico” Hotel in Buenos Aires was a beautiful and cozy hotel in a great neighborhood of restaurant and shops. The “Tierra Atacama” was spectacular. One the most beautiful places we have stayed in. We had a brief look also at the “Terrantai” and felt, that the “Tierra Atacama” was a lot better.
Also the Ecocamp is a fantastic place with excellent food. On every airport we were awaited by a guide. We got all necessary update on flight changes.
"We just got back last night from Venezuela and want to let you know what a fabulous time we had. We certainly appreciated the professional services of Jonjac. The owner, John, was very helpful and exchanged dollars for us as well as leading us through the airport coming and going. We probably could have figured it all out (well maybe) but we all agreed that we were very happy that you had arranged for Jonjac to take care of us. Likewise at Puerto Ordaz where Gabrielle had young ladies who assisted us.
We enjoyed what we saw but like most other travelers - one day in Caracas is enough. The hotel, Ole Caribe was an oasis in the middle of chaos and we are glad that you arranged for us to stay there.
But our time in Canaima was incredible. Each day and each activity was amazing. It was extra special in that none of us knew what to expect. We loved Jungle Rudy's - we were the only guests and got to stay in the newly remodeled cottage by the dining area. We were very fortunate with the rain and weather. Gabrielle's son Gabriel flew us to Kavak the only day we could go up the canyon to the falls. The day before and the day after we went, the water was too high for doing the trip. As it was the water covered the rope in places. Ruben, our excellent guide, led us and we were the only ones in the canyon which made it very special.
On our return flight back to Jungle Rudy's, Gabriel flew us in front of Angel Falls for some fabulous pictures of the falls and the tepuis - an amazing part of the world and we feel so fortunate to have been there when the clouds were behaving.
Rosanne was our guide while at Jungle Rudy's. She was young and enthusiastic about everything. I am sure over time her English will improve but we managed fine. She took us behind Sapo falls which was very full and very, very wet. We loved the entire outing which included a hike to Hacha falls.
When we went upriver to Angel Falls another guide (Antonio) joined us along with four Venezuelan girls. Antonio's English was excellent and the entire excursion was enjoyed by all of us.
The falls were very full (lots of rain during the night) fuller than any of the pictures that I had seen of them. Rosanne had us leave at 7:30 AM for our hike to the falls which meant that we were the only ones on the trail and the only ones at the top. We hiked down to the pool for swimming and before we left several groups had come along which made us appreciate how fortunate we were to be the first to arrive. I can't imagine how crowded it must get when the camps are fuller. And again the weather cooperated with wispy clouds that enhanced our pictures and rain that only fell on our return boat ride back to Jungle Rudy's.
We took pictures of the camps that used hammocks and were again appreciative of your arranging for us to be at Jungle Rudy's. We all loved Jungle Rudy's - Gabrielle who explained the family history, the location away from town, the good food, and the stone cabins with beds at Angel Falls. All of it was wonderful and never to be forgotten.
So thank you again Andrew for setting up this incredible adventure. We will happily recommend your services to anyone interested in traveling in South America."

"You booked my family of nine on a tour to see Peru last December/January.
I wanted you to know that the trip was a total success, for our first time to Peru your itinerary was great for showing us different parts of the country and teasing us enough that we want to go back again. There is so much to see!
My husband and I are in the whitewater rafting business in the Grand Canyon and know what it takes to make trip come off smooth when there are so many logistics to handle. Also we know how important the Guides are to making our trips exceed our customer expectations. Because we know these things I want to let you know that you that you are doing a great job planning and coordinating all the logistics for a vacation so far from home.
First of all the flights and meetings went perfectly. When we got to a new place there was always a friendly happy person to meet us and get us to our hotel. Second the planning and timing was great. This is our first trip where we signed up for a planned and guided tour. We have always been "do it your-selfers". I'm afraid you might have spoiled us because you made it so easy. I was impressed the planning for Guided time and time to ourselves, your mix was just right. I was worried we wouldn't have time to explore on our own but as I said it worked out great. Third the Guides were above average... They were well versed with their surroundings and were very knowledgable about all aspects of the area and Peru in general. I want to point out that (our guide in Cusco) was the best I've seen in a long time. In our business we have a saying "Know your audience", well he figured us out right away and took great care to show us things we were most interested in. It was actually quite funny travelling with him, whenever he would start to give us a talk we noticed all the "Do it your-selfers" were hanging close by so they could hear what he had to say. At Machu Picchu our little group was being followed by a bunch of Argentinians. They tried to be casual but we knew they wanted to listen to him, so we just invited them to join us instead of pretending that they happen to be where we were all day. You can count on me and my whole family to recommend your outfit to everyone who wants your great service. Thanks for a fabulous trip, you made it easy." - May 2008, Pam Q.

the entire Galapagos adventure.
From the moment we arrived in Quito everything went very smoothly
and according to plan. Our guide, Gina, met us at the airport,
delivered us to the Cafe Cultura, and planned our next morning
tour of Quito. She was delightful, very informative and professional.
All in all we would score this trip A+ and would highly recommend
it. "

"[We chose Lost World
Adventures because of the] combination of Galapagos and Rainforest
in one trip and price of trip. We had a lot of questions and
they were always answered. Wow! We all had a great time. The
hikes were a little harder than we expected - especially in
the heat at Kapawi but we all survived thanks to lots of naps
in the afternoon! Thanks for a great experience!"
