Day 1: US - Lima
Arrival and transfer to hotel in Lima.
Day 2: Lima - Huaraz
Depart by bus to Huaraz, 250 miles northeast of Lima. Upon arrival at Huascaran Hotel, you will be briefed by your guide about the upcoming trek.
Day 3: Vaqueria
The trek begins! Hike up to a 15,000 ft. pass where you will experience fantastic views of the surrounding Andean peaks, including Huascaran, Huandoy and Chacraraju. Camp tonight at Vaqueria. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Paria or Tuctu
Today's hike takes you towards the Huaripampa Valley. During the day you will slowly ascend the valley between the snow-capped peaks of Paria and Taulliraju. Continue to your campsite near Paria or Tuctu. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Taullipampa
The trails ascends steeply toward Punta Union, a 15,407 ft pass. From here you will be rewarded with views of Mt. Taulliraju and its turquoise glacier lake in the Santa Cruz valley. Camp tonight at Taullipampa at 12,456 ft. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Llamacorral
As you descend into the Santa Cruz valley, the scenery changes dramatically. Loose, pebble-like rocks, or scree, turn into marshy meadows. Tonight's camp is at Llamacorral. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Huaraz
This morning you will hike back to Cashapampa, where you will board a bus for the return trip to civilization at Huaraz. Overnight at the Hotel Huascaran. (B,L,D)
Day 8: Huaraz - Lima
Return to Lima by bus. (B)
Day 9: Lima - US
Depart Lima for the US.
