Day 1: US – San Jose
Airport reception and transfer to your San Jose hotel. Check in at the Hotel Santo Tomas, a four-star French Victorian mansion located in San Jose’s historical district: Barrio Amon. The hotel has easy walking to all shopping, museums, nightlife, and cultural events. Rooms have private bathrooms. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 2: Mountain Biking Turrialba
Guided tour through the Cartaga area, ending up in Turrialba. Support van, driver and guide/mechanic available at all times with fresh tropical fruit and drinks, snacks and cool water as well as gear such as helmets, gloves, water bottles, extra bikes and first aid kit. Overnight at Hotel Turrialba

Day 3: Pacuare River Camp Class III-IV
The Rio Pacuare, one of the few protected tropical wilderness rivers flowing through virgin jungle, is one of the most exciting and beautiful rivers to raft in the world. The trip covers 18 miles of river passing through the magical lush virgin river gorge where a 100 ft waterfall drops off the canyon rim directly into the river. River time about 2 1/2 hours. Mid-afternoon arrival at private camp with time to relax and enjoy the rainforest. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Pacuare River Rafting - San Jose
Proceed down river through rapids such as Las Huacas, the most difficult class IV commercially run rapid. Lunch on river bank. River time about 4 hours. Mid-afternoon take-out and return to San Jose. Overnight at Hotel Milvia.(B,L)

Day 5: San Jose - Quepos
Domestic flight to Quepos. Check in at Hotel Costa Verde, nestled on jungle covered hills. The hotel offers views of the Pacific Ocean and has easy access to the abundant wildlife of the jungle, a cliffside pool, bar and restaurant. Kitchenette. (B)

Day 6-8: Quepos
Explore the hiking trails and wildlife in Manual Antonio National Park, snorkel, and sun in the beautiful tropical paradise. The small village outside the park border has cafes and shops that rent surfboards and offer lessons.

Day 9: Quepos – San Jose – US
Fly back to San Jose and transfer to your international flight. International flights must depart at 1:00pm or later in order to connect.
