Day 1: San Jose
Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the luxurious Xandari Resort & Spa, located on a secluded coffee plantation outside San Jose. Each spacious villa has a panoramic view terrace and private patio. The Plantation includes two lap pools, horses for hire, fitness equipment and miles of private scenic trails.

Day 2: Mountain Biking to Turrialba
Guided tour through the Cartaga area, ending up in Turrialba. Support van, driver and guide/mechanic available at all times with fresh tropical fruit and drinks, snacks and cool water as well as gear such as helmets, gloves, water bottles, extra bikes and first aid kit. Lunch is included. Overnight at Casa Turire. Located about 10 miles from Turrialba, the Casa Turire is a deluxe country lodge set amidst a sugar plantation overlooking the Reventazon River. The comfortable rooms feature private bathrooms and ceiling fans. During your stay here you may enjoy many of the hotel's facilities, including mountain biking, horseback riding and tennis. Or simply relax poolside and enjoy the hotel's tropical surroundings. Overnight in a Superior room, continental breakfast included. Please note: No children under 12. (B,L)

Day 3: Pacuare River Rafting
Class III-IV. Early morning pick-up at your hotel in San José by your bilingual river guide. En route to the put-in point stop for breakfast at a typical Costa Rican restaurant. Continue to the put-in at Tres Equis (total driving time 3½ hours). After an orientation and safety talk proceed down the river. The Rio Pacuare, one of the few protected tropical wilderness rivers flowing through virgin jungle, is one of the most exciting and beautiful rivers to raft in the world. You’ll cover 18 miles of river passing through the magical lush virgin river gorge where a 100 ft. waterfall drops off the canyon rim directly into the river. Lunch on the river bank. River time about 5 hours. In the mid-afternoon return to the Casa Turire. Please note you must be at least 17 to do this trip. (B,L)

Day 4: Turrialba - San Jose - Palmar Sur - Casa Corcovado
You will be met at your hotel this morning and transferred by private vehicle to the airport in San Jose. Fly to Palmar Sur on the Osa Peninsular. Launch off on a 2-hour boat trip downriver and along the Pacific coast in open seas to the lodge. Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge is discreetly tucked away in the rainforest amongst its 170-acre private reserve bordering Corcovado National Park. Each private bungalow features tiled floors, hot showers and ceiling fans. Delicious meals of fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables and typical Costa Rican cuisine are served in the communal dining area. Days 5, 6: Casa Corcovado
Excursions into Corcovado National Park and Caño Island Biological Reserve are led by informative guides who will introduce you to the remarkable biodiversity and natural history of the area. You can snorkel among the coral reefs, swim, beach-comb, refresh yourself under a natural waterfall, bathe in a quiet, shaded pool or simply relax on a white sand beach shaded by coconut palms. You can also arrange for additional activities including diving, sea kayaking and deep sea fishing, or explore the area on your own. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Casa Corcovado - Palmar Sur - San Jose
This morning you will return to Palmar Sur for your flight to San Jose. Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the Xandari Resort & Spa, breakfast included. (B)

Day 8: Int'l departure
You will be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport. (B)
