Day 1: US - Lima
Arrival in Lima and transfer to the five-star Hotel Melia Lima, located 15 minutes from the airport in the residential area of San Isidro.

Day 2: Lima - Iquitos (Wednesday Departure Only)
You will be picked-up at your hotel and transferred to the airport. Check-in for flight to Iquitos. Airport reception and transfer to dock for a 2:00 PM departure from Iquitos and board the M/V Rio Amazonas. After settling in, set sail along the main channel of the Amazon River towards the town of Pevas. Time permitting, there will be an afternoon shore excursion to a local farm and sugarcane still. In the evening, following dinner on board, there will be a group discussion where information will be given about the upcoming cruise events. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Amazon River Basin
Morning arrival in the Ampiyacu River area. After breakfast, excursion to Pucaurquillo, where you will have the opportunity to visit Huitoto and Bora Indian villages. Watch some native folk dancing and trade for handicrafts with the locals. Return to the ship for lunch and a little relaxation while you continue to sail up the Ampiyacu river. This afternoon there will be a jungle walk and a visit to yet another Indian village known as Ocaina. After dinner depart by small boat for an evening excursion. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Amazon River Basin
Early wake up call for a bird watching excursion through the tributaries and on nearby lakes. Return to the ship for breakfast. Later this morning the ship will stop at a Yagua Indian village to see a "blowgun" demonstration by the natives. After lunch on board, sail on to Pevas where you will visit the house of a famous painter whose craft depicts the every day life in the Amazon River Basin. Late afternoon leave the Ampiyacu River and head back on the main channel of the Amazon towards Iquitos. After dinner have a farewell meeting where to discuss the areas visited. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Iquitos - Lima
Arrive in Iquitos after breakfast on board. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the five-star Hotel Melia Lima. Tour colonial and modern Lima in the afternoon.

Day 6: Lima - Cuzco
You will be picked-up at your hotel and transferred to the national airport. Check-in for flight to Cuzco. Airport reception in Cuzco and transfer to your hotel, the Posada del Inca. Set off on a tour of Cuzco and the nearby Inca ruins in the afternoon.

Day 7: Cuzco - Machu Picchu
Very early morning hotel pick-up and transfer to the train station where you’ll set off on a scenic 4-hour train trip through the Urubamba Valley followed by a 20-minute bus ride up to the breathtaking Lost City of the Incas of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival you’ll set off with your guide to explore the walls, stairways, temples and terraces of Machu Picchu. After a lunch served at the hotel, you’ll be free to explore this enchanting place on your own. In the late afternoon, return to the train for the trip back to Cuzco where you'll be met at the station and transferred back to your hotel.

Day 8: Cuzco - Lima
Hotel pick-up and transfer to the Cuzco airport. Check in to depart for Lima. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the five-star Hotel Melia Lima.

Day 9: Lima - US
You will be picked-up at your hotel and transferred to the international airport for your international flight home.
