Day 1 (Saturday): Guatemala City arrival and transfer to Antigua
Welcome to Guatemala! Upon exiting customs and immigration you will be met outside the baggage terminal. Set out on a private transfer (approximately 45 minutes) to the beautiful city of Antigua. Overnight at an Antigua hotel, breakfast included.

Day 2: Comalapa Market, Biking & Hiking
You will depart for a short transfer to the town of San Juan Comalapa, which is famous for its local market. Once there you will have time to wander through the market and admire the native painters. After lunch enjoy hiking and biking in the Alaska area and then transfer to Quetzaltenango (Xela). Overnight at the Hotel Pension Bonifaz, breakfast included - 2 nights. (B,L)

Day 3: Hike Chicabal Volcano & Shaman Ceremony
Today you transfer to the rural community of Chile Verde and transfer part way up the Chicabal volcano by vehicle. Then hike 1-hour up the volcano and down into the crater where a beautiful crater lake has formed. This lake is a very spiritual place for the Maya and there are many ritual sites here. You will travel with a local shaman who will then perform a blessing ritual for you at the water’s edge. Picnic lunch and transfer back to Xela. (B,L)

Day 4: Bike Cerro Quemado & Almolonga – transfer to Lake Atitlan
Journey by bike into a valley the locals call "America's Vegetable Garden." You will spend the morning at the famous vegetable market in Almolonga. It's easy to see why this region is so celebrated for its vegetables as you pedal past neat rows of crops stretching for miles into the distance. Today's riding takes you down through tropical lowlands, crossing rivers, ravines, hanging bridges, dry lava beds and local coffee fincas. Transfer to Lake Atitlan Overnight at the Posada Santiago, breakfast included – 2 nights. (B,L)

Day 5: Kayak and Hike Cerro de Oro at Lake Atitlan
This morning you kayak on what many have called, “the most beautiful lake in the world”, Lake Atitlan. You pass by local fishermen, indigenous Maya women doing their washing and men working in the fields wearing their famous embroidered Santiago shorts as well as enjoying views of the three lake volcanoes. Once at Cerro de Oro you will hike this impressive hill and on the top of this sacred hill you can sometimes witness Mayan rituals in process which is an amazing and authentic glimpse of local Mayan life in this area. There are also great views of the whole lake and her surrounding volcanoes from atop this hill. When ready, you will transfer back to your lodge on local pickup trucks. After lunch you visit the town and places of interest of this lively Tzutuhil maya town with its market and its strange Maya God, “Maximon” which locals revere and perform rituals in front of to bring good luck – or bad! Day 6: Coffee farm biking and hiking, transfer to Antigua
Transfer to the unique and gorgeous farm of los Tarales on the slopes of giant Atitlan volcano. Learn about the coffee process and have a peak around in the tropical plants nursery. This are real working farms as it has its own school and village. Explore the area by bike. Afterward, transfer to Antigua. Overnight at an Antigua hotel, breakfast included – 2 nights. (B,L)

Day 7: Pacaya Volcano Hike
After breakfast along your tour leader you will transfer to Pacaya National Park and begin the hiking ascent of this famous, active volcano! The hike takes around 2.5 hours and at the top you can see down into the crater to the lava as well as experience the energy of an active volcano. On the return to Antigua, you can enjoy a fun guided tour through the colonial city. Evening on your own. (B,L)

Day 8: Antigua – Guatemala City – Flores (Tikal)
Morning transfer to the Guatemala City airport for your flight to Flores in the northern rainforest. Upon arrival, you will be met and depart for a short drive deep into the rainforest to Tikal. Enjoy time at the pool and lunch before starting a jungle trek ending at the impressive area of ‘mundo perdido’ (lost world) in time for sunset. Zip line canopy tour included. Overnight at a Tikal/Peten hotel, breakfast included. (B,L,D)

Day 9: Tikal – Guatemala City
Today you will be taken on a guided tour of the famous Maya temple site in the jungle. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for you evening flight to Guatemala City. Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at a Guatemala City hotel, breakfast included. The rest of the evening is free to enjoy the nightlife of Guatemala City. (B,L)

Day 10: Int’l Departure
Hotel pickup and transfer to the international airport. (B)
