Day 1: (Saturday) US – Santiago de Chile

Welcome to Santiago de Chile! Santiago (elevation 1,560 ft) was founded in 1541 by Pedro de Valdivia and is the fifth largest city in South America. The Andes are in full view from Santiago throughout most of the year and the Rio Mapocho flows through from east to west. Overnight accommodations at the European-style Hotel Carrera.
Day 2: Santiago – Torres del Paine
Fly to Punta Arenas and transfer to Torres del Paine National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass by Figueroa Lagoon and several beautiful lakes, keeping your eyes peeled for guanacos, ostriches, black-necked swans, flamingos and condors. Accommodations at Hosteria Lago Grey for 3 nights. A variety of half-day guided excursions are included daily, with activities such as hikes, scenic drives and white-water rafting. You may also sign up for additional excursions, or venture out and explore the area on your own. (B,D)
Days 3- 4: Torres del Paine National Park
The impressive Andean massifs of Torres del Paine are surrounded by glaciers, waterfalls, lakes and lagoons, which together make this national park famous throughout the world. Cruise out on Grey Lake, where you may witness huge chunks of blue ice breaking off from impressive Grey Glacier. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Punta Arenas – Puerto Montt – Petrohue
Depart from Torres del Paine National Park for an eight-hour transfer back to Punta Arenas and fly to Puerto Montt. Our forest retreat at Petrohue sits on the edge of Todos Los Santos Lake and the Petrohue River. The Hosteria Petrohue provides an excellent base for exploring the Lakes District in depth. Your accommodations are in comfortable rooms with private bath, with all meals included. (B,L,D)
Days 6- 8: Lakes District

Day 9: Lakes Crossing to Argentina
Cross spectacular Lake Todos los Santos’ vivid blue-green waters. Continue to Puerto Frias by bus and cross Lake Frias by boat. Accommodations at the Hotel Edelweiss in Bariloche – 2 nights. (B)
Day 10: Bariloche
Today is at your leisure. (B)
Day 11: Bariloche – Puerto Montt – Santiago
Take a six hour scenic bus ride to Puerto Montt and then fly to Santiago. Overnight accommodations at the Hotel Carrera. (B)
Day 12: Maipo Canyon & Vineyard Tour – Departure
Today’s full-day tour features a drive into the Maipo Canyon and up to Las Vertientes, a popular resort at the foothills of the Andes with a view of the winding Maipo river. The tour continues toward the picturesque village of Pirque to visit the old cellars of Concha y Toro winery with winetasting included. This evening depart. (B)
