This is the oldest of the camps in the area. Well known Rudy "Jungle Rudy" Truffino built his camp in Ucaima, a few minutes by jeep upriver from Canaima on the banks of the Carrao River in the 1950's. It is now operated by his daughters who provide warm, friendly service to the guests and are always available for chatting with guests about the beauty of the Lost World region.
Encounters there included half a dozen resident black-capped parrots, a baby giant anteater, a tapir, a resident macaw, and a friendly boa constrictor.
Clean, quiet accommodations in one of the 9 comfortable bungalows provide all the comfort you could wish in the wilderness. The double rooms have private bath.
The camp has a dining area that double as a social area great for talking about the days excursions. Trails around the camp allow for unguided wandering through the jungle.
Excursions to the Carrao river and to Angel Falls are available for day trips and overnights. Side excursions to several other nearby waterfalls are offered, as well as Angel Falls overflights and full day excursions to Kavak.
