State rooms are smaller with fewer windows and are best for those on a budget who want the amenities Victoria House offers. The restaurant serves both national and international cuisine for a relaxing dinner or quick lunch. The bar serves up a lighter fare, tropical drinks and local beer. With a wrap around porch, the bar is a perfect place to while away the afternoon with a deck of cards or a good book. Adjacent is the gorgeous swimming pool with a sea view. The water is desalinated right on the property and always feels brisk. Activities range from lounging on the wide sandy beach to SCUBA diving, snorkeling, and bone or permit fishing. Take a full day excursion on a sailboat to the island of Caye Caulker with a 3 stop snorkel, inland to the ruins of Altun Ha with lunch at Maruba Jungle Spa, or maybe up the river to snorkel with the manatees.
