Travel to Peru's Deserts with Lost World Adventures.

Desert, Peru

The desert of Peru is an area wedged between the Pacific and Andes where the Nazca lines have been formed. Marvel over the formations imbedded in the earth and view the shapes of huge birds and animals and geometrical lines and ponder their creation. Overflights of the Nazca Lines are available daily although weekly group departures are more economical.

While staying at Las Dunas or Hotel Paracas in Ica, you'll have an opportunity to relax in a very comfortable resort with amenities including a swimmming pool, spa and tennis. From Ica take a boat to the Ballestas Islands to see wildlife similar to the Galapagos. In Paracas Bay you will see the Candelabra formation one of the most famous and visible Nazca Line.

In Chachapoyas you may also travel and visit areas of the Peruvian Desert. The culture is very different to the people of Ica and has Amazonian roots. Our Chachapoyas Adventure thoroughly explores the area although shorter visits may be arranged.

The desert in Peru is unique in South America because of the Nazca Lines and the proximity to the Ballestas Islands. It can be easily arranged as a 1 or 2 night extension to other travels in Peru.
