Mountains, Peru
The Andes Range provide a backdrop for
almost every tourist destination in Peru. Snow capped
mountains greet you as you fly into Cuzco and are in view
at every turn. Take it easy since it takes time to acclimatize
to the high altitude. The very adventurous will want to
climb
the spectacular peaks on organized expeditions but most
will enjoy the view throughout the country from car, van,
train, foot or even a hot
air balloon.
On the way to Machu
Picchu the train will take you through the Andes until
Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu. After your
tour of Machu Picchu you may wish to climb to the top
of Huanay Picchu for views of the peaks around and a birds
eye view of the Inca ruins. At the Machu
Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, stay at the top of the mountain
with the best access to the ruins and surrounding hiking.
On the Inca
Trail Trek you twist and wind your way through a variety
of climates to reach Machu Picchu. We offer group departures
or privately guided treks with porters.
An alternative trek, the Cordillera
Blanca takes 5 nights at a mimimum and has fantastic
views of Andean peaks. As you hike through the Huascaran
National Park meet locals and catch glimpses of the turquoise
glacier lake in the Santa Cruz valley. Ascend to over 15,000
feet twice in 5 days or opt for a longer treks. Begin and
end your trip in Huarez for this authentic adventure in
the Andes.
Chachapoyas
Adventure takes travellers around and through the northern
Andes mountains for insight into the unique cultures that
border the Amazon. Hike,
horseback
ride and tour visiting ancient and modern indians and
their settlements.
Manu

in the Andes has abundant bird and wildlife included the
sought after Cock of the Rock by birdwatchers.
An important environment, this area houses many endangered
species and has easy access to Manu
Lodge in the Amazon Jungle.
